Originally from Central California, but moved to New York City for a while where I worked for a variety of places like VICE, ABC, CNN, CBS, and RYOT studios.

Now, I’m back in California and can’t wait to continue to tell stories that matter via my production company, TISSUE LLC, and an organization I started for black and brown media professionals called Advocates For Inclusion In Media.

ABOUT ME

A BIT MORE ABOUT ME…

SOME NOTABLE WORKS INCLUDE STILL HERE, an immersive experience I CO-CREATED in partnership with Al Jazeera Contrast that premiered at the 2020 Sundance Festival AND LOVE, LIZZO, A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT THE ICONIC SINGER, LIZZO, WHICH PREMIERED ON HBO MAX IN 2022.

I AM A Professor of Journalism at THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA’S ANNENBERG SCHOOL FOR JOURNALISM AND COMMUNICATIONS and THE CO-CREATOR OF Advocates for Inclusion in Media, AN ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PROMOTING EQUITY FOR HISTORICALLY MINORITIZED CREATIVES WORKING IN NEWS AND ENTERTAINMENT.

I’ve ALSO HAD THE great privilege of consulting and speaking for various companies and entities like Harvard’s School of Education, Women In Film, the Good Tech Conference, Wetransfer, Storyhunter, Hulu + Pandora + Silicon Beach Diversity Group and more about storytelling, distribution, tech (AR/VR) and the importance of inclusion in media.

I AM an Emmy-nominated producer, documentary filmmaker, WRITER and DIRECTOR WORKING in BOTH UNSCRIPTED and scripted MULTI-MEDIA.

I started MY career at CNN where I reported and wrote stories about race and identity for Soledad O’Brien’s In America series, then later worked as a producer for ABC's Good Morning America, CBS News/60 Minutes, BET, and VICE Media. I began working in immersive storytelling at RYOT Media where I oversaw creative direction and production for immersive, branded, and linear series before becoming an independent consultant and producer/director IN 2017 WHEN I FORMED TISSUE LLC- A PRODUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT COMPANY BASED IN LOS ANGELES.
